Frames and arranging
Frames that hold what is inside them, groups, locking, aligning and distributing, and snapping.
Frames
Pick Frame (F) and drag to draw one, or click once for a 16 by 9 frame. Frames are named Frame 1, Frame 2 and so on; double-click the name to rename it.
- Membership
- Whatever a frame fully contains belongs to it. Drop something inside and it joins, drag it out and it leaves.
- Moving
- Moving a frame moves everything in it. Pick it up by its name or edge.
- Underneath
- Frames always sit under everything else, and do not nest.
- Deleting
- What was inside stays where it is.
- Presenting
- With nothing selected, a board's frames are its slides. See Presenting.
Align, space and order
Select items and open Arrange in the toolbar. A group counts as one piece, and so does a frame with what is in it.
- Align
- Left, center, right, top, middle or bottom, with two or more pieces.
- Space evenly
- Horizontally or vertically, with three or more.
- Order
- Bring to front, bring forward, send backward, send to back.
Group and lock
- Group (⌘G)
- Items that move and select as one. Ungroup with ⌘⇧G. Alt-click picks one item inside a group.
- Lock (⌘⇧L)
- A locked item cannot be moved, resized, erased or deleted until it is unlocked. It shows a small lock when selected.
Snapping
As you drag, the edges and middles of what you move line up with other items in view, and guide lines show where. Turn it off in Menu → Snap to things; the setting follows your account to every board.
Zoom and background
The zoom control in the bottom left zooms out and in, jumps back to 100%, and Fit everything shows the whole board. The board zooms from 5% to 400%. Menu → Background sets a grid, dots, crosses or a plain board, for everyone on it.
