Change one part of a sheet

Asking for a change to a whole sheet rewrites the whole sheet, which takes longer, costs more, and can move things you liked. A chat about one part changes only that part: a heading, a paragraph, a table, a chart, a button. The rest of the sheet, its styles included, stays exactly as it was.

1. 1Select one sheet. The toolbar above it shows Select a part.
2. 2Click the part you mean. It gets an outline. Esc cancels.
3. 3Choose Chat about this part and say what should change: “shorter”, “make it a table”, “use our blue”.

Quicker: pick Ask at a spot (Q) and click straight on the part. A part that already has a chat reopens it.

Chat about this part

Opens a chat tied to the part. Its dot sits on the part's corner.

Edit the text

Type into the part yourself, for words that need no AI.

Remove this part

Takes it out of the sheet.

Bigger or smaller part

In the slip, "Talk about the part around this one" widens to what contains it, and "Back to the smaller part" steps back in.

The chat gets the whole sheet as well as the part, so “match the heading above” works. It can also read the board's other conversations, so “make this pink too” knows what else was made pink. If you ask for “the whole slide” or “all of it”, it changes the whole sheet.

Rewriting a whole sheet removes the chats about its parts, since the parts they pointed at are gone. Parts drawn by a sheet's own scripts after it loads, such as a chart, can be asked about but not edited by hand.
