Files, images and the web

Drop files onto the board, paste them, or use Add images or documents on the tool rail (9). Several files land side by side where you dropped them, and files dropped inside a frame join it.

Images

PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF. Shown at their own size, at most 640 pixels wide, and kept in proportion.

Documents

PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx), CSV, plain text and Markdown.

Web pages

An .html file, or a whole HTML page pasted in, becomes a live sheet (up to 1 MB).

Drawings

Excalidraw and tldraw files come in as editable shapes. See Export and save.

Size

Up to 10 MB a file. Files are checked to be what their name says.

Text

Pasting plain text makes a text item.

A document shows one page, slide or sheet at a time, with previous and next buttons and a page count. Open large (or a double-click) shows every page scrolling, with a Download link.

Ask about a document on the board and the AI reads its text, page by page, stopping once it has what it needs. It reads up to 10 pages per request. For PDFs a page is a page, for decks a slide with its speaker notes, for spreadsheets a sheet; Word and text files are read in pieces of about a page.

The AI can only read files stored on the server, so on the front-page board, which lives in your browser, sign in or share first. Encrypted or damaged files cannot be read.

Select images, or name them with @, and they are attached to your message so the AI can see them: up to four at a time. It cannot see images you did not point at.

Web search

When an answer depends on today or on facts it is not sure of, it searches the web first, up to three times per request, reads the best pages, and cites them as links in the sheet.

Photos

It finds real photos for designed sheets from a stock photo library, rather than making up image addresses.

Icons

It picks icons from open icon sets for pages and slides.
